While various factors contribute to the decline of mental well-being, society plays a significant role in shaping our mental health. This article aims to shed light on how societal influences can potentially ruin mental health and the implications it has on individuals.

1. Unrealistic Expectations:

Society often imposes unrealistic expectations on individuals, fueling a constant need for perfection. Whether it’s the pressure to excel in academics, career, or physical appearance, the quest for societal approval can take a toll on one’s mental health. The fear of failure and the persistent need to meet societal standards can lead to stress, anxiety, and even depression.

2. Social Media and Comparison:

The rise of social media has revolutionized the way we interact, but it has also created a breeding ground for comparison and self-doubt. Constant exposure to carefully curated highlight reels of others’ lives can make individuals feel inadequate. The relentless pursuit of validation through social media platforms can lead to feelings of loneliness, low self-esteem, and even body image issues.

3. Stigmatization and Discrimination:

Society’s tendency to stigmatize mental health issues contributes to the deterioration of individuals’ well-being.
